Welcome to Lakeway
In 1952, Gerri and the late Lawrence Bruno DeGeorge had a dream- opening the finest restaurant in Ashtabula county, serving the best quality food available in a clean and friendly atmosphere. Complementing Gerri’s homemade cooking is the professional expertise that the DeGeorge’s son David acquired at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park, New York- one of the two finest culinary art colleges in the world- adding his own special touch to his recipes for over 40 years.
At Lakeway, our commitment to our customers extends beyond the exceptional quality, value and variety of our dining selections. We’re equally committed to serving healthy, kind-to-the-heart entrees and offer special selections for special diets. Through consultation with The Cleveland Clinic, The Ashtabula County Medical Center and The American Heart Association, we have implemented a series of guidelines for our food preparation.
All of our foods are prepared with all-vegetable, no cholesterol cooking oils and margarines. We fry fat-free. We add very little salt to our cooking; you add the salt you prefer. Our gravies and sauces are strictly controlled to reduce as much fat and salt as we can. Most of our seafood, chicken or meat dishes can be broiled for you. We broil with no-cholesterol margarine.
At Lakeway, we remain fully committed to a heart healthy, high value dining experience for you and your family. Lakeway takes special pride in the fact that for over 65 years, millions of customers have enjoyed our meals. People of all ages and walks of life continue to dine here daily. The restaurant takes pride in its outstanding staff of chefs and employees. Through all their hand work and efforts, we are living Bruno and Gerri’s dream.
Good service great pasta!
Been coming up to the area for over 15 years and this was our first stop at this restaurant. Always drove by and said why is there always so many cars here and so we decided to check it out . Both of us got pasta dishes one with meat sauce very good and other work traditional red sauce and meatballs also very good . Great menu items and a lot of choices . Had like a diner feel in the front with seating in the back .
Will be back .
The best Lake Erie Perch!
I moved away several years ago and always make sure when I come for a visit, I stop by Lakeway’s for their Lake Erie Perch. It is the best! I highly recommend Lakeway’s and their perch.
Good variety of food.
We had a good dinner, I had small steak and my husband had their Lasagne, we had wedding soup. Everything was very good.
Hometown restaurant with big town taste.
We had lasagna for, our first visit. It will be on our favorites list! The portions were large….enough for a big appetite or leftovers to take home. Can’t wait to go back and try another home cooked Italian dish.
We found a gem!
It was late and we were looking for something to eat. As we drove by we saw a lot of cars in the parking lot. The place we were headed to was closed so we thought we would try this place.
How serendipitous! The restaurant was clearing out with all the diners leaving yet we were treated as welcome diners even though it was getting close to closing time. The restaurant is unpretentious and the menu seemed ambitious.
Well, our food was excellent. The service was perfect and were felt truly served. After dinner we had the pleasure of meeting the owner, he had come out of the kitchen and he was super friendly and fun to chat with. He runs this place with his mother, who we also met.
It seems obvious that the locals know how good this place is. If your looking for a nice meal at guise moderate prices, check this place out

Lakeway Restaurant is family owned. They always have a delicious selection of daily specials. It is generous of them to offer a senior small plate section. Their coffee is hot and good.
